Pollution Prevention, Pretreatment, and Stormwater Services

 

Important to protecting human health and the natural environment are pollution prevention, pre- treatment, and stormwater management. Urban areas, industrial facilities, and construction sites are significant sources of pollutants. Federal, state, and local regulations require municipalities to investigate sources of pollutants and implement control measures to reduce water pollution and impacts from hazardous waste.

Ralph Vasquez, Senior Project Manager

Ralph Vasquez is an environmental professional with 19 years experience specializing in water quality, environmental regulatory compliance, and ISO 14001 compliance. He is widely recognized as an expert in storm water management. Mr. Vasquez developed and is the leading instructor for the Cuyamaca College Industrial Wastewater and Storm Water Management Course. He routinely makes presentations and conducts storm water training programs for municipalities and private industry. He is a published author in such prestigious publications as "Public Works" and "Stormwater."

 

His experience includes completing the City of Chula Vista's JURMP. Completing the City of Chula Vista's JURMP involved identifying high priority sites (e.g. industrial, commercial, construction, and residential), developing a database, and developing an inspection schedule. He used the City of Chula Vista's GIS database to identify high priority sites.

 

His knowledge of finance, business administration, biology, and chemistry is applied to successfully ensure regulatory compliance. His experience includes obtaining storm water compliance by providing technical and analytical support that addresses complex compliance issues using cost-effective strategies.

Daniel E. Johnson, Vice President

Daniel Johnson, Vice President of SCS Engineers, is an environmental professional with over 25 years of experience. He has actively promoted improving the environment through interacting with regulatory agencies, professional organizations, teaching courses related to environmental issues, conducting training seminars, and as an academic advisor.

 

Mr. Johnson applies his knowledge of environmental situations to develop practical policies and procedures. By participating in regulatory and community environmental issues, he develops workable solutions and excels as a professional in the environmental arena. He is able to avoid entanglement with environmental problems and develop workable solutions when they arise in the difficult and rapidly changing regulatory environment.
